WELCOME

Dear colleagues and friends,

Once again we will have the opportunity of meeting to exchange knowledge and strengthen friendship. This time our meeting will be held in Mendoza, Argentina, from 6th to 9th October, 2019, during the “XVII Latin American Congress of Genetics, XLVII Argentine Congress of Genetics, LII Annual Meeting of the Genetics Society of Chile, VI Congress of the Uruguayan Society of Genetics, V Latin American Congress of Human Genetics and V Latin American Symposium on Cytogenetics and Evolution (ALAG / 2019)”.

For the first time, we will hold six congresses in a single event, combining ideas and collaborations. This fact demonstrates the vocation of Latin American geneticists for integration and a joint growth for the advancement of Genetics in our countries. We have the significant support of the Brazilian Genetics Society and the International Genetics Federation.

The central motto will be “Architecture of the genome: its expression in phenotypes and populations” with the purpose of considering the dynamics of the genome structure and the diversity of its expression in the environments. The program will include plenary lectures, parallel symposia and sessions in microbes, plants, animal and human genetics.

On behalf of the Executive Committee, I thank all the geneticists who have sent scientific program proposals for their participation, and to the institutions, agencies and companies that sponsor and promote this event.

We are looking foward to meeting you in Mendoza, at the foot of the Andes mountain range, with the desire that you can enjoy this beautiful city and its surroundings with mountains, vineyards and wineries.
